With that in mind I decided to make a Mario card to go with his birthday card. I used different punches to make the Mario. I think it turned out pretty cute. What do you think?<span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit6zg1u5W6AIoNxf0VZiTz1B7h-Jpn4mQp0-wfgT7DeEvdOGH76tBXRdpdhfUSUlNLR_hWzCrVtdvMzBGTgdXToC60OpeJ52s14D1-Ww0IM_TVbIPZ57a1T08l26Xm_jjSj9aDuUWjQWcp/s1600/010.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit6zg1u5W6AIoNxf0VZiTz1B7h-Jpn4mQp0-wfgT7DeEvdOGH76tBXRdpdhfUSUlNLR_hWzCrVtdvMzBGTgdXToC60OpeJ52s14D1-Ww0IM_TVbIPZ57a1T08l26Xm_jjSj9aDuUWjQWcp/s320/010.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5520719884420713218" border="0" /></a></span></span>The Lund Fivehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07612523473301401517noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-164713901808158360.post-31485060408554919732010-01-16T21:47:00.005-07:002010-01-16T22:01:35.075-07:00Thank You card and a Sweet Treat<span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">I have been having a lot of fun with these quilt cards. Back in November I made 12 to swap at our Stampin' Up! group meeting. Well no one else made swaps so I got to keep all mine. Actually I gave a couple away. And I am going to enter one in a contest, hopefully soon. Anyway here is that card. I believe I posted another "quilt card" recently.</span><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427568724752706338" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgseHWkFtCzQntlmzVE0OjZOEgXGIP0Rl89HmDcZbpuUvhC4LpfnyMQnHdlhG3M_Q6wt_wYyKbBoaczASs25IiLoP7jv8LKTpRKv4AnAOLekE_zg4Wf2rg-Ua8l57DI69C9_UUJ3FF9OMAA/s320/009.JPG" /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">For neighbor gifts this year I made these hot cocoa packets. We actually saw these demonstrated at our last meeting and I knew then that I wanted to do them for my neighbors. It is made using a regular lunch sack cut down to 8 1/2 inches. Then I just stamped and decorated it. <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427568263309896050" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe4zjhKeCVrUUrkVT87vKFC8YledWRhMd_dsfJ3lWTRAnH8EYVRpi78YWCiXyxcNhR3qaw7SV3MpwAZpYYMYVmPY7sTrw6qZEB500CCdpGUWpzYVFlXeW-sLvseYPFirc20yaBQuWJym1j/s320/011.JPG" /></span>The Lund Fivehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07612523473301401517noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-164713901808158360.post-59106463395189745382009-09-07T23:17:00.005-06:002009-09-07T23:33:22.015-06:00Two New Cards<span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">It has been quite awhile since I have posted anything to this blog and I figured it was about time for an update. So I have 2 cards to post today. The first one came from a website I get a lot of my ideas from, Splitcoaststampers.com. It is actually a combination of 2 different cards I saw. I have made several cards with this layout since then and have changed the colors and sentiment. I really like it. These cards were made for my sister-in-law, Lina.<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 213px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378965334874913490" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjn4Ci0UQezYm07kIwKi2xRKmpgprvBRxVn6T6RamkinU4ih0y_Jlc1hDn3PMkjBiyusjlky5SqMpo5C-K6nI2QnNqU_gZxhUC4ju-wa3IoOPUSa770r70NQaLba33gZT7uhRvMx-xIH_4U/s320/pics+014.JPG" /></span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">M</span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">y second card came from a blog called chicnscratch.blogspot.com. When I first saw this card I knew I had to try it out. It took me a few months to finally get around to it but I am pleased with the results. I changed the colors and the sentiment. Also, I made one for a baby shower but I was rushed in making it and it didn't turn out nearly as good as this one. It was a lot of fun to make and reminds me of a patch work quilt! It is my type of quilting!!<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 213px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378964523314945218" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXu3Wrpx2DTW8AMx9HEHdtbKT-z9FJW18ymRKJzCWvwIAvhCPuA5mIZAhseXURcSzZQdkBd6WvKfeRU7b0YGLWrfAP6sf7otb77Wxa1yBv69YrcDZHCIdJXXDoCXfiXyGMqVQEjYVWeeZu/s320/pics+015.JPG" /></span>The Lund Fivehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07612523473301401517noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-164713901808158360.post-66620261357512882052008-12-15T14:34:00.005-07:002008-12-15T14:55:13.725-07:00Christmas Tags and some Cards<span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">This year I decided to make my own Christmas Tags to go on the gifts that I am giving. It was really fun making them. I have only made a few and I still need to make some more, but these are the ones I have made so far. I will just be making duplicates of the ones that I have already made. <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280136981207145522" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOafTLc2uOt_g6qUydk-sAMeFMDDp0ByEFvOAQVVFVU9v9VabUu9oT_1zHcCvjVqLYjAOWq3FOE_zWez635_UkyHi-aTJSFkR9ya1m8v_cqZ1E67U4zinN47SnhNGP_oEhCHMlpZ40Jbg0/s320/026.JPG" border="0" /></span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">I also made 3 sets of 12 cards each for Dave's Sister's and Sister-in-Law. Here are just a few of the cards I made. I copied them all from Splitcoast Stampers, however I changed the color schemes on all of these cards. I really like how they turned out!<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280138392879534866" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibsw2kI9s94Afpz4_hgOgox-L-_B3_u2UoaSopLD9AQ_DgCvIwg6rtCTOfgUwayCQh9hLS9zqfHmwG4CuMo50BeUnXpE6mbF4XTeSD_5RjSGc6zcBCZWbKzckJjWS-j7LsZUBXrIzDo74O/s320/021.JPG" border="0" /></span><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280138401754326690" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0wZNlYjpjuWXic3m0PYFfLOq5rcuIJ1hZr4gYbeDAJwVTV58ydd7usnkdjabLHPvqTh44o4YxlIhwqe4oTqXQpBpPV229lv0oAEyM-htG92Gmm5lLpxB7RDOvFgGpkHlDVo8UgzPlRC8W/s320/022.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280138408921096594" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpdnXZFurDM6VmueQtV2IhUuPEBxNJapbho4_DPfVEFAKFIBXi8JPRtnbzLXD4XrrecwUPg7_NrQLfIAv1zFwd6O_zMWCCjl0AEo74r8hrT4mtNsqwtlPdLffRaBDhSQTirTJ7-GrPqgBG/s320/023.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280138417750960770" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-UoaMSofyUiMYnwWT-lWaul8oMDKygUrQS7dyG6M0J29NKr-nFn0XgdBLZvsLPoGt5IKCb76b17195fCAzCt7hgsVur1DhAt57ZCGG_mMSE9DMXzsRRhZ0N1_dR7Q00Denu_-0b-NsCme/s320/025.JPG" border="0" />The Lund Fivehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07612523473301401517noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-164713901808158360.post-87860605105715180142008-10-16T13:06:00.002-06:002008-10-16T13:28:44.705-06:00Card Technique for September<span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">I have been pretty bad about posting these techniques before the end of the month. Anyway September's Techinque is called "Moonlighting" and we did this card last Tuesday at Stamp Club. I got this idea from a blog <a href="http://www.atouchfromtheheart.blogspot.com/">here.</a> I did change it a little because she didn't have a greeting on the front and to me a card looks incomplete without a greeting. So I had to adjust the sizes of the front panels. I also just cut 1/2 inch off the bottom of the front of the card and then used the new scallop punch to get the decorative edge. She had hers on the inside of the card. </span><br /><div><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"></span></div><br /><div><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Anyway, this is how the technique is done. First I stamped my image using versamark ink and then put black embossing powder over the versamark and heated with my heat tool. Then I punched out a 1" circle and placed it over the owl. Third, I Used More Mustard Stamp Pad and pounced on the top 2/3 of the paper. Then using the same sponge I used Pumpkin Pie Stamp Pad and pounced on the top 1/3 of paper. Finally I used the Old Olive Stamp Pad and pounced on the bottom 1/3 of the paper. Then just finish up the card. I really liked doing this technique. Next month I will be doing a Faux Metal Technique that is really cute. Anyway, here is the finished card!<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257835800242114162" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpXXicxTL70aFSzwz7qKFpF5ya9H4jMy3l6v1bb27hgXXgl_waXYOYkUfc51XW8fm1kpnqbjPUmrGGmQthWodJ65fHoLJs4_WqlW3l3DeWnZJhbVh6CfJIHJtG6pkxZ5ag-pWoB4T08crN/s320/006.JPG" border="0" /></span></div>The Lund Fivehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07612523473301401517noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-164713901808158360.post-43794224647194529542008-09-02T09:13:00.002-06:002008-09-02T09:30:05.551-06:00Card Technique for August<span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">The card technique for August is called Paper Piecing. It is pretty easy, but can be very time consuming. This is how it is done. First, you stamp your image twice--once on cardstock and once on patterened paper. You can also make your own pattered paper by using a background stamp and then stamping image on stamped background. That is what I did with the sock monkey card. I used the Twill background stamp and then stamped the sock monkey on it. This gave the monkey a knitted look. Second, cut out the image that you want for the main image. Third, cut out the pieces of the other image that you want to use. With the sock monkey one I used the knitted piece as my main image and then cut out the pieces I wanted to with the regular cardstock. With the cupcake thank you I cut out the patterened paper with the top part of the cupcake and also the cherry. Fourth, you adhere the cut out pieces to your main image. Fifth, finish the card. Here are the 2 examples of the cards.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241446430187662258" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbxRjNHAfUjyt0tku1xK-UI4SE9b6GUhthkAqWXGXzPKZCwcn3DjcplkLjqjOgJ1aJkvPYQSP-88HCr5ruiaQ0HiSxKWJkEsZ3I6_UADkNTFTLa753pbEw5TPp662g231LTNPqMv1d7PzP/s320/018.JPG" border="0" /></span><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241446445075912066" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOVxzWfM4CL25yXaf5QMvbMiVz459OcXu6mRsckkf7h4utXw1uwQGGT0oetFAMdW2E5VI38QW8WFh-llZrOHXdJOCjRNVbohcxGLB1ybozfKiMRgcvOEXOhYawnaz3SPc8tXh0njkbJYVH/s320/003.JPG" border="0" />The Lund Fivehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07612523473301401517noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-164713901808158360.post-20392634200860102072008-07-16T17:33:00.004-06:002008-07-16T17:52:10.259-06:00Card Techniques for June and July<span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">I know that I am behind on my card techniques. I apologize to those of you who may check this site on a regular basis. These are my card techniques for June and July. The technique for June is called faux silk. This is the card that I made<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5223760632895554514" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeGMkMZDnclsM6Svk4EqiT_3Abo0A7ywUBQK5MgGdw4ingSTQgS5UtnacsWOxpRedwAckuRPt7eKoxvX4xxTFiwwTAyldch4Rx-4l_MY28KIyIudq4DaYjRRjn96lnS7fdCTLXz8IXthwa/s320/002.JPG" border="0" /></span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">This is how you make it. First you stamp your image on tissue paper. Then if you want to add color you can add it very carefully. I didn't to it to this one. Then you take your tissue paper and you crumple it up. Then you flatten it out again and use a glue stick to go oven entire piece of cardstock. Then you adhere the tissue paper to it. You fold in all the excess behind it then you finish up the card. </span><div><br /><div><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"></span></div><div><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">The technique for July was making a purse out of the round tab punch. I got the idea for this at <a href="http://stampinwithkaren.blogspot.com/">http://stampinwithkaren.blogspot.com/</a>. You punch out of designer paper using the round tab punch, fold over. Then you make a handle using the small and large oval punches. This is the card I used with that technique. I changed the colors and used the cuttlebug embossing folder to add some texture. This is the card that I made for July.</span></div></div><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5223763554972443794" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsCpaq-_gDeIc3h9fCGUdX_lRmgcFQKNwtewIsIkp7xAHPRm25m8w0bQa8Ea6FSeU5ejWWeK3Z3bQvTQJABy5pq6iWc8sFsO3cQ1dK1tDzaK2LGRnIkA5wjw2iYTa5j_dZY3q7hPDAWITY/s320/010.JPG" border="0" /><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">We made both of these cards at my Stamp Club last night and it was a lot of fun!!!</span><br /><p><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"></span></p>The Lund Fivehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07612523473301401517noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-164713901808158360.post-61296493252516562502008-05-21T09:01:00.004-06:002008-05-21T09:42:31.059-06:00Card Technique for May<span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">The card technique that I did for May is really fun to do and you are going to wish that you had "Smellanet." The technique is scratch and sniff cards. I have a perfect stamp set to try this card technique with. It is the Tart and Tangy set from the Occassions mini Catalog. Here are the step- by-step instructions:</span><br /><br /><p><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">What you need:</span></p><ol><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">A bold style stamp set</span></li><br /><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">A versamark pad</span></li><br /><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">A sugar-free drink mix</span></li><br /><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Clear Emboss powder</span></li><br /><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">A heat tool</span></li></ol><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">This is what you do:</span><br /><p><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"><span style="font-size:180%;color:#3333ff;">Mix</span> 1part sugar-free drink mix to 1 1/2 parts Clear embossing powder. I haven't done anything for his teacher all week and decided that I better do something for him to take to school tomarrow. Anyway I found this cute card idea online and so I made this card today. Then I had Landon write the note inside. We are also giving Miss Cook a Ghirardelli Chocolate bar. This card technique is called Cracked Glass. As always, I got this card idea from someone else. Anyway, here is the card I made.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197087578148000754" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKZ_VloczZzSrESAn7UbResMuwOWnpS6OKhNBrg7BIWp-sCypxD1-CvoagT9sVxtiUzM0pvsd-bcJAem1elZOvlc_3a4R9mGOV9Idk2ZPVoLdgsza7cvoGsi6vpKoBpLsSVrjcNHI8XwU9/s200/010.JPG" border="0" /></span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">This is how the card is made:</span> <ol><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Stamp your image on cardstock</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Add color if you want</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Apply versamark over the entire piece of cardstock</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Put cardstock in a powder pal and pour Glassy Glaze over the entire image</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Heat powder with heat gun until melted. When you are done, your cardstock will have a bumpy, linoleum layer of Glassy Glaze.</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">While Glassy Glaze is still hot, add more powder over cardstock. The 2nd layer will look smoother</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Repeat step #6</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Bend cardstock carefully until embossed layer cracks. Repeat on different spots until you get the look you want</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Sponge cracks if you want them to look more prominent</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Buff with a paper towel to pick up ink that didn't seep into the cracks</span></li><li><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Finish Card.</span></li></ol><p><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;">If you are in my Stamp Club, this is another card that we will be making at Stamp Club this month. It is a lot of fun and I have really enjoyed learning some new techniques!</span></p>The Lund Fivehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07612523473301401517noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-164713901808158360.post-78486802640649436732008-05-01T21:48:00.000-06:002008-05-01T22:07:23.945-06:00Gift Card Holder<span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">Tomarrow my brother Jake is graduating from college.
