Card Technique for September

I have been pretty bad about posting these techniques before the end of the month. Anyway September's Techinque is called "Moonlighting" and we did this card last Tuesday at Stamp Club. I got this idea from a blog here. I did change it a little because she didn't have a greeting on the front and to me a card looks incomplete without a greeting. So I had to adjust the sizes of the front panels. I also just cut 1/2 inch off the bottom of the front of the card and then used the new scallop punch to get the decorative edge. She had hers on the inside of the card.

Anyway, this is how the technique is done. First I stamped my image using versamark ink and then put black embossing powder over the versamark and heated with my heat tool. Then I punched out a 1" circle and placed it over the owl. Third, I Used More Mustard Stamp Pad and pounced on the top 2/3 of the paper. Then using the same sponge I used Pumpkin Pie Stamp Pad and pounced on the top 1/3 of paper. Finally I used the Old Olive Stamp Pad and pounced on the bottom 1/3 of the paper. Then just finish up the card. I really liked doing this technique. Next month I will be doing a Faux Metal Technique that is really cute. Anyway, here is the finished card!
