Card Technique for May

The card technique that I did for May is really fun to do and you are going to wish that you had "Smellanet." The technique is scratch and sniff cards. I have a perfect stamp set to try this card technique with. It is the Tart and Tangy set from the Occassions mini Catalog. Here are the step- by-step instructions:

What you need:

  1. A bold style stamp set

  2. A versamark pad

  3. A sugar-free drink mix

  4. Clear Emboss powder

  5. A heat tool
This is what you do:

Mix 1part sugar-free drink mix to 1 1/2 parts Clear embossing powder. For example, 1 teaspoon drink mix with 1 1/2 teaspoons Clear embossing powder. This gives you scented powder.

Stamp image in VersaMark ink on your cardstock

Heat emboss the image using the scented embossing powder

Finish your project! This is mine.

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week at Landon's school. I haven't done anything for his teacher all week and decided that I better do something for him to take to school tomarrow. Anyway I found this cute card idea online and so I made this card today. Then I had Landon write the note inside. We are also giving Miss Cook a Ghirardelli Chocolate bar. I mean, who doesn't love CHOCOLATE!!!

Card Technique for April

I know that I am a few days late with the April Card Technique, but April was a little bit busy and I had to order some stuff to do this card and didn't get it ordered until the end of April. This card technique is called Cracked Glass. As always, I got this card idea from someone else. Anyway, here is the card I made. This is how the card is made:
  1. Stamp your image on cardstock
  2. Add color if you want
  3. Apply versamark over the entire piece of cardstock
  4. Put cardstock in a powder pal and pour Glassy Glaze over the entire image
  5. Heat powder with heat gun until melted. When you are done, your cardstock will have a bumpy, linoleum layer of Glassy Glaze.
  6. While Glassy Glaze is still hot, add more powder over cardstock. The 2nd layer will look smoother
  7. Repeat step #6
  8. Bend cardstock carefully until embossed layer cracks. Repeat on different spots until you get the look you want
  9. Sponge cracks if you want them to look more prominent
  10. Buff with a paper towel to pick up ink that didn't seep into the cracks
  11. Finish Card.

If you are in my Stamp Club, this is another card that we will be making at Stamp Club this month. It is a lot of fun and I have really enjoyed learning some new techniques!

Gift Card Holder

Tomarrow my brother Jake is graduating from college. A couple of weeks ago I saw this really cute gift card holder on another blog so I decided to try it for the first time. It was a lot of fun and pretty easy. You can see instructions on how to make it at here. Just scroll down until you see gift card holder. Also, if you are in my stamp club we will be learning how to make these in May.
